The most notorious terrorist outfit had carried out yet another terror attack this time on the police cadets at the Police Training College, Quetta, on Saryab Road killing 59 cadets and wounding 116 others, some of them in serious condition. According to official reports, between four to six terrorists managed to enter the premises of the Police Training College and succeeded in entering into the hostels where most of the cadets were residing.

The most notorious terrorist outfit had carried out yet another terror attack this time on the police cadets at the Police Training College, Quetta, on Saryab Road killing 59 cadets and wounding 116 others, some of them in serious condition. According to official reports, between four to six terrorists managed to enter the premises of the Police Training College and succeeded in entering into the hostels where most of the cadets were residing. The firing started and some guards present at the place returned the fire attracting the attention of the entire security outfit to rush to the site and save the cadets and secure the entire college premises. Two among the terrorists were suicide bombers who blew themselves up killing a score of cadets on the spot. The terrorists reportedly entered into the premises just before the mid-night and started their killing spree by resorting to targeted firing on them. Till the wee hours of the day, the media was blank about the number of deaths and injured people. After several hours, the media persons came to know that around 59 people, overwhelming majority of them were police cadets, were killed and 116 cadets were injured. According to reports, the terrorists took around 250 cadets hostage at gunpoint. They were all released and shifted to a safer place following an action by the security forces promptly. Contingents of troops, FC and police rushed to the spot and started the fight against the terrorists by taking positions on all vintage points. The entire area was cordoned off and helicopters were used to carry out an aerial search of the area and monitor the situation and locate more terrorists if they were found hiding in the neighbourhood. Senior most officials also rushed to the spot and monitored the situation. The Chief Minister was constantly briefed about the developments during the entire nigh till the security forces cleared the area and declared the Police Training College premises is safe.

Following yet another deadly incident in Quetta, an emergency had been declared at the major hospitals and all the doctors, surgeons and technicians and paramedical staff members were summoned on emergency duty and the Secretary Health managed life staving drug at the major hospitals where the dead and injured were rushed by the rescue service. There was no report of any mismanagement in the biggest Government controlled hospital on Jinnah Road and everything was found smooth and in orderly manner, unlike the mess and anarchy when the lawyers came under attack within the premises of Civil Hospital in August last. The security forces reportedly intercepted messages and communication between the terrorists and their handlers passing on directives and instruction how to conduct the terrorist operation. The calls were reportedly from Afghanistan confirming that terrorist elements are using the Afghan soil against Pakistan and responsible for terrorist activities in this country killing innocent people. Similar evidence had been handed over to the President of Afghanistan and the Afghan Army chief that terrorists are using the Afghan territory and demanded necessary action to stop such elements for action against Pakistan and its people in general. Security sources had earlier confirmed that the attacks on Army Public School, University in KPK, attack on Civil Hospital Quetta and other places that all the terrorists were given instructions on phone from Afghanistan. The attack on police cadets had sent a shock wave to most parts of Balochistan as cadets came for every district and region of Balochistan and preparations are afoot to dispatch the dead bodies to their villages in remote corners of the Province. It confirmed that whole of Balochistan was affected in a single terror attack mounting pressure on the Government to take stern action against terrorist. The Prime Minister and the Army Chief had rushed to Quetta to monitor the situation personally and hold a high meeting on law and order in which important decisions are expected to be taken.
