QUETTA: Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan has claimed to have recovered a mammoth quantity of explosive material and prepared IEDs on Tuesday, might be used for terror attacks in Balochistan.

QUETTA: Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan has claimed to have recovered a mammoth quantity of explosive material and prepared IEDs on Tuesday, might be used for terror attacks in Balochistan.

Acting on a tip-off FC Balochistan has carried-out a raid on a compound near PanjPai area of Pak-Afghan border and recovered mammoth quantity of explosive material and prepared Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

“At least 1800kg explosive material and 150 prepared IEDs were recovered hided to carry-out terror attacks in Baochistan,” FC’s spokesman said.

However, no arrest was made in the raid.

“The IEDs were fitted in canes weighing 30kg replete with explosive material, and had to transfer to other cities of Balochistan to carry-out terror attacks,” the spokesman said and added FC’s timely action thwarted miscreants’ plot to spoil peace.

Meanwhile FC Balochistan has seized an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted near the road of Gomazi area of Turbat.

“Unknown men planted an IED to target Forces’ convoy but the explosive device had been recovered defused timely,” the spokesman added.

He said, “The IED weighing 8kg was planted near the road to target Security Forces’ patrolling convoy.”
