The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif, made an effective representation of Pakistan case at the UN General Assembly exposing the aggressive designs of India against Pakistan. Pakistan had rightly demanded sending a fact finding mission to the occupied Jammu and Kashmir ascertain the main cause for subjugating the people of Kashmir, denying them their fundamental human rights for around seven decades. The Prime Minister made a clear speech at the UN General Assembly highlighting the plight of the oppressed Kashmiri people and use of brute and disproportionate force to crush their legitimate struggle demanding their right of self determination. The UN General Security Council passed two specific resolutions on the Kashmir dispute calling for holding plebiscite ascertaining the will of the people of Kashmiri they want to remain in India or join Pakistan. The Prime Minister was very clear in his demand saying that the India should be forced to vacate the military occupation calling for withdrawal of Indian occupation from the dispute territories of Jammu and Kashmir holding fair, free and impartial plebiscite in the occupied Valley. The United Nations Security Council is committed to hold his a referendum on the Kashmir dispute on which Pakistan and India fought three wars in the past. Now both the countries are on the verge of yet another war on Kashmir and India is to be blamed for escalation of tension between the two nuclear neighbours. India used the pretext of  Uri incident where some dubious characters attacked the Indian Army camp in the Hindu dominated Jammu region. Pakistan denied any involvement in the incident saying that the Indian security forces had deliberate created the issue through mock attack to escalate tension on the Line of Control or the De factor borders between the two neighbours.

The Prime Minister had meetings with the world leaders on sideline of the UN General Assembly meeting on refugees and apprised the world leaders about the plight of the Kashmiri people and use of brute force to suppress the legitimate aspirations of the Kashmiri people for genuine liberation of their homeland. Pakistan renewed its commitment to extend unqualified support to the cause of Kashmiri people back the genuine struggle by making political and diplomatic move to give a big boost to their just struggle for right of self determination. The Prime Minister met dozens of world leaders from all regions and explained the current situation to the world leader saying that the Indian leaders and Government are responsible for all the consequences for escalation of tension in the entire region. The people of Pakistan fully supported the stance of the Pakistan Government on the Kashmir dispute urging the Government to take appropriate measures to give a further boost to their freedom struggle. Some of the observers were found of the opinion that the Government of Pakistan should not dilute the impact of the Kashmir struggle and should avoid presenting it as a case of mere human right violations. The UN Security Council had already two resolutions on Kashmir dispute calling for holding a plebiscite ascertaining the will of the people of Kashmir that they want to remain in India or want to join Pakistan. It is an issue of right of self determination for the Kashmiri people and not mere violation of some rights of the Kashmiri people in present phase of violence unleashed by the Indian occupation forces. Thus the character of the Kashmir dispute should not be change with the difficult situation the Government facing due to the Simla Accord making Kashmir a bilateral issue. Let Kashmir remain an international dispute as the two UN Security Council Resolutions are much more important than the Simla Accord with India. Thus the Government of Pakistan should not adopt a defensive approach or dilute the Kashmir cause for political reasons.
