MQM Pakistan made a historic decision dissociating the party and leadership from its founder Altaf Hussain presumably for strategic reasons to defend the legitimate interests of their vote bank and followers from all parts of Pakistan. All walks of life in the country and mainly the political parties should welcome the bold decision of the MQM leadership defending the interests of the country and its people. The MQM Pakistan leadership had proved their sincerity and demonstrated its political commitment and will by initiating a resolution against Altaf Hussain seeking legal action against him for the remarks against Pakistan he made in one of the MQM functions. They are taking independent decisions in politics and they are not subservient to the will and decisions of Altaf, the founder of MQM. There is no doubt a larger section of educated people are associated with the MQM and generally the people of Pakistan are expecting more pragmatic decisions on national and provincial issues ending the politics of rhetoric from such an educated crowd.  They had successfully kept aside the extreme policies of Altaf from the ground realities where all the Urdu speaking people are residing and their collective interests converge. Naturally, there is a big gap between the interest of Altaf and rest of the Urdu speaking people in Karachi or elsewhere in Pakistan. Now they came to a clash directly and bulk of the population will naturally dissociate from the designs of Altaf serving the interests of his foreign masters. All Urdu speaking people, mainly followers and supporters of MQM are Pakistanis and they are residing in Pakistan and their interests are with the people of Pakistan and not India or Afghanistan. There was a great realization among the urdu speaking people, mainly the leaders of MQM Pakistan, that the interest of Altaf Hussain not in harmony of the rest of the people of Pakistan. Thus some of them decided to dump Altaf and continue politics with rest of the people of Pakistan. It is a welcome decision and should be appreciated by all Pakistanis without any reservations.

It is natural that by following the directives of Altaf Hussain, they will suffer and will stand isolated among their fellow Pakistanis. Why should they suffer to satisfy the ego of Mr. Altaf Hussain? It is the major decision that MQM Pakistan made by dissociating with Altaf as he had harmed their relations from other ethnic groups and he was involved using his secret army or gangs of killers in killing innocent people from other communities during the past 38 long years. He served the enemies of te people of Pakistan by killing innocent people through his militant wing. Now this time again, he will try to bully the MQM Pakistan leaders using the militant wing and he had started telephoning the Sector In-charge in reorganizing the death squads at a bigger level to settle score with those who defected and joined the mainstream politics in Pakistan.

It is a good decision to join the mainstream politics at the national level and it is also necessary to repair the damage done to their relations in Sindh politics.  The MQM Pakistan should unite with the Sindhi people in defending the legitimate interests of Sindh seeking its lost rights within the framework of One Pakistan. The MQM should work for unity and integrity of Sindh so that common interests of all the ethnic groups in Sindh are defended. They should now drop the demand for division of Sindh making Sindh inseparable as it is in the interest of the entire people of Sindh. At the same time, we support the idea of equal rights to all ethnic and linguistic groups and no one should be singled out and discriminated. It is collective of the civil society in Sindh as a whole and the gains should be retained for long time as the Chief Minister demonstrated a very positive role in the present crisis the MQM Pakistan faced.
