TURBAT: First Shaheed Doda Rasheed memorial Football Tournament started in University of Turbat. The Vice Chancellor University of Turbat inaugurated the event by kicking football during opening ceremony held in sports complex at university public library.

Despite the players of sixteen participating football teams across  district Kech, UoT faculty members, officers, senior football players and a reasonable number of people were present in inauguration ceremony.

In his short speech during inauguration ceremony Vice Chancellor said that University of Turbat was contributing its due share in promoting of research, higher education and sports activities in the region. Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts made by organizers and support from senior sportsmen for shaping such event successfully.

He said involving in positive activities like sports is key to lead comparatively a healthier life mentally and physically.

“No stone will be left unturned for the promotion of curricular and extra-curricular activities in this part of the country and youth will be provided platforms and opportunities to establish their talent and creativity in every walk of life” said VC.

He paid homage to services conferred by Shaheed Doda Rasheed for the promotion of higher education in university. He said his sudden demise in the prime of life has saddened every heart in University.

Vice Chancellor along with Controller Examinations Tanvir Ahmed, Director Public Relations Ijaz Ahmed and Director Sports Mazhar Ali Gichki had a shake hand with the team’s captains and paid them a warm welcome for participating in the event.

The youth sportsmen were looked very delighted to experience and other sports event taking place in University of Turbat.

Lecturer Balochi department Mr. Sadiq Saba thrown light on Shaheed DodaRasheed’s personalty and education services.

He said that Doda Rasheed has passed away following a deadly motorbike accident on the unfortunate morning of 4th Sep, 2014 when he was on his way to the University for imparting knowledge and wisdom among students. He was working as a regular Faculty member in the Department of Commerce, with the additional charge as Deputy Controller of Examinations and Principal Staff Officer to the Vice Chancellor. He had recently clinched a scholarship and secured admission in a university abroad.

In the opening match of the tournament Young Raj Singanisar beaten Gulshan Abad Turbat by one goal while the second match won by the Gold Youth Singani Sar.
