QUETTA: The bodies of three Engineers of Urban Planning and Development Department Turbat and two local Contractors had been picked up by armed group, three months ago still on mountains .Engineers Muhammad Ibrahim, Fida Muhammad, Raheem Buksh two contractors Mehboob Rind and Chakar Zamrani were visiting the construction site of Dasht area of Kech District when they were picked-up by armed group’s members on May 15.

The kidnappers forcibly took all abductees on rugged terrains of “Saeji” up to 2500 feet top of the mountains and left them without food or water in 50 degree Celsius.

All five abductees had died in anguish without shelter, food and water on the top of the rugged terrains that stirred the whole area.

On May 24, families of abducted engineers and contractors were informed about the tragedy and still waiting to bring back the bodies of their loved ones.

“We want to see last glimpse of my father’s body and bury him with Islamic tradition, but still attempting to reach the mountain that is impossible without technical assistance by Provincial Government.” Jiand Baloch son of late Engineer Muhammad Ibrahim said.

He added, “We have approached all concern departments including Chief Minister of Balochistan and Chief Secretary but no one is serious to heal our wounds with providing us trained rescuers to bring back the bodies.”

People of the area succeeded to navigate the rigorous mountains but they merely retrieved two bodies and passed half distance due to sever heat hampered them to return back.

Jiand Baloch said, we were forced to bury the bodies in temporary grave made with stones but in coming torrential rains the graves could be destroyed and we will be left empty handed.

Residents of the area have protested against the heinous act by the militants and demanded the District Administration and Provincial Government to aegis families to bring back the bodies.

The families visited Quetta and wrote an application to the Chief Minister, Home Department and other concern officials to help them but still they are waiting for reply.

“Our loved ones were not there for picnic, they were Government servants and went there to perform their duties, the district administration in Turbat suggested us to lead them in bringing back the bodies,” Sohrab Rafeeq relative of Ibrahim Baloch said and added the administration is mocking with us.

“They can’t feel the retribution and pain our families are passing through, we have left our jobs, studies after the tragedy,” Sohrab said and demanded immediate support by the provincial government.

Makran Division particularly Turbat, Kech and Dasht are considered the security risk areas as in past many Government workers were killed or abducted by separatist groups.

On September 14, 2015 the then Chief Minister Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch had constituted a four members committee to review the development work in Makran Division.

After pressure from high-officials the committee sent their sub-ordinates to visit the development work to escape security challenges.

“After this level of negligence and risking my father’s and other lives, the Commissioner Makran and other committee members should be suspended and strict action against them should be taken.” Jiand Baloch demanded.

Refuting the allegations Commissioner Makran Division Bashir Bangulzai said, “The District Administration is ready to use all resources to bring back the bodies for burial but there are some forces politicizing the issue,”

He said, “After the incident we had visited the area but three decomposed bodies were not able to take down and we retrieved only two,”

Commissioner Makran added, we had temporary buried the bodies on mountains after getting permission from the families, “We had assured them after some times of period, the remaining bodies would be bring down,” Bashir Bangulzai said and added, it is possible to climb the terrains and bring back their loved ones but the families should approach us first.
