Journalist plays an attractive role for the development of a nation who are sacrificing their lives serving the people with news on daily basis. In fact, the UN marked November 2 as the International Day to End Impunity for the crimes against journalists, but majority of journalists are not safe and being victimized everywhere in the world that over the past decade, 700 journalists have been killed in the  world during the course of discouraging their duties.

The UN points out the issue which is not just about violence but also the culture of impunity within which the violence is totally unleashed. Mostly, the journalists have lost their lives in targeted killings, bomb attacks, in the cross-fire and kidnappings in wars and armed conflicts across the globe.

According to an International Federation of Journalists (IFJ)  that,  Pakistan is fourth on the list of the deadliest countries in the world for journalists and for the implementation of a UN Plan of Action on Impunity against journalists which considered one of the most dangerous countries of the world to practice journalism.

Another report was released by the Pakistan Press Foundation that more than 70 Pakistani journalists and other media workers have lost their lives since 2001, while pursuing their duties. So, the majority journalists are being attacked by unknown gunmen, and mostly the killers go unpunished in Pakistan, even nine out of ten cases killers go unpunished in worldwide. There is a built-in culture of impunity which allows the crimes against journalists to go uninvestigated and unpunished in turn to encourage offended parties to take matters into their own hands when they are presented in an unfavourable light by the media in the country. Pakistan has sit near  the top of the list of the most dangerous countries for journalist who regularly received threats and these are sometimes followed through in a brutal manner. The government of Pakistan had acknowledged that journalists often become the victim in three kinds of violent incidents during the line of duty while covering the event, because of the issues of the country and their family also faces several kinds of threats, even sometimes they were attacked by the terrorists.

So, the attacks shows a sense of insecurity for journalists and unpublished by the government that today the attackers are being successful in Pakistan humbly request the government to take such a serious step towards such painful issue and around the country are urged to establish mass security system to secure the lives of knowledge spreaders in Pakistan.
