It is painful to mention that Balochistan, being the richest province of Pakistan is tackling several types of problems in this modern era. Since, the province has been ignored and it is totally lacking behind good education system. The fundamental rights of Balochistan are being violated and the state of education in Balochistan has always been in jeopardy, with low literacy rates and a lack of access to schools of Balochistan. It is sad to mention that, Out of 3.6 million, only 1.3 million children go to school in Balochistan and the remaining 2.3 million children are out of the schools due to lack of basic infrastructure and facilities in most colleges and schools of the province. The youths of Balochistan are being completely neglected who are facing multiple problems to seek education in the province where most of the youths have left their reading and compel to work in be child labor in Balochistan. In reality, the majority of the people are stricken by poverty, the unemployment rate is high, salaries are low and they cannot afford to send their children in schools for getting education.
Previously, the Balochistan government of Balochistan terminated the services of over 400 government school teachers when a National Accountability Bureau team found them absenting themselves from their duty for a long time and she also traced presence of 234,000 ghost students in the province that is already lagging behind the other provinces in terms of literacy rate and absent from their own schools in Balochistan. The government seems doing nothing for making the educational system well and whose attention to the system is totally lost and failed to provide well-quality education for the youths of Balochistan. There are some major problems which are faced by our educational department which do not let the educational system to be good, such as, incompetent teachers, cheating culture, neglecting the course books, examination system, libraries and Laboratories which plays a tremendous role for making the educational system well and develop the reading culture in the province. But unfortunately, our educational department is completely failed to solve these major problems and failed to create a tremendous reading culture in Balochistan. In fact, no nation can progress in this world without giving proper attention to education and the visit of officers in schools, colleges, and universities can make a reading environments but unfortunately, in Balochistan no officers has been visited in schools for seeing the condition of education, so in exam time no one has visited to see the condition rather students are solving the paper by heart or cheating. But, it is sad to say that, there are no such kinds of culture to visit in every school. So, the Officers should visit schools and colleges so that students should be motivate and know that government’s attention or focus is on education.
In fact, there are 12,500 schools in Balochistan and among them just 7000 schools have shelters or rooms for students of Balochistan and numerations children are out of schools in the province, the ratio of children in Balochistan is 3.6 million but among them just 1.3 are being schooled. Moreover, the students are completely deprived from their basic needs and facilities, such as cold water, electricity, textbooks, desks and good building and rooms. So, 36% schools are deprived of during water and 56% are don’t have electricity and 15% schools are ghost no shelters and rooms in the province. The painful earth quack of 2013 have destroyed multiple schools and homes in Balochistan, but still they are not rebuild and students are compelled to study under the open space on the hot sun because of no building rooms and mostly teachers are ghost in Balochistan with a ration, 700 teachers have fake digress and are uneducated that just playing with the lives of innocent students in Balochistan.
Today our nation doesn’t have a high position in educational field since; it deprived the real educational system in the country that today which is facing multiple problems in this modern era. So, the last one is privatization, in Pakistan 84% of the students are getting education in government educational department while other 16% are in private institutions, but still the government is taking more interest in private schools which is like a big injustice to the students of governmental schools who are totally being ignored to get education in governmental schools in the entire country. According to a report released by UNO that, at least 4.5 of budget should be spent on education, but in our country less than 2.2% is spent. So, if our government would spend 4.2 of budget than the all problems would be solved automatically.
The Government of Balochistan need to take some serious steps to eliminate these problems in order to save the future of the youths and make the education system good in the province. The richest province of Pakistan direly needs educational academies, not any military garrisons, it needs education, not war and it needs educationists, not military operations. I would be very thankful if the government of Pakistan takes notice of this deteriorating situation of education in Balochistan in order to save the education in the province.
