QUETTA: Fourth academic council meating of Turbat University, chaired by University Vice Chancellor Dr Abdul Razaq Sabir, was held here at city Campus University of Turbat on Saturday.

QUETTA: Fourth academic council meating of Turbat University, chaired by University Vice Chancellor Dr Abdul Razaq Sabir, was held here at city Campus University of Turbat on Saturday. Despite Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Abdul Saboor Baloch, the meeting was also attended by the senior faculty members, university officers and other sectional heads.

Various matters related to new rules and regulations of semester system, admission policy in different department, admission criteria and procedures of M.Phil/Ph.D program, University academic calendar 2016, plagiarism policy, Mulla Fazul Chair and other educational and research strategies was discussed and resolved during the meeting.

In his presidential address Dr Abdul Razzak Sabirexpressed satisfaction over the last three years academic progress of the university saying that University of Turbat is all capable to be enlisted among country’s prominent universities with in few years in HEC ranking and to meet the expectations of the people in the field of higher learning and research.He said UoT is pledged to move forward academically, administratively and institutionally, therefore the university achieved number of milestones in early three years of its commencement in the field of Higher Education and research.

“Strong academic section and good governance are believed to play a vital role to give acknowledgement and distinction to any educational institutions, therefore University administration will not compromise over catering quality higher education and promotion of research activities and will extend every possible support for the development of the university” VC added.

Giving their  in-depth analysis over the academic matters, the university pro vice chancellor Dr Abdul Saboor Balocbh and other senior faculty members have stressed to expedite the efforts for hiring the services of some  more qualified professors and scholars for the further transformation and strengthening academics to achieve the defined goals in the domain of higher learning. They also presented suggestions over different academic matters including new semester rules and M.Phil/Ph.D programs in Turbat University.

Earlier, Acting Registrar Dr Hanif Rahman briefed the meeting about agenda items and objectives of 4rth academic council meeting.
